By accessing or using Debattle at debattle.com ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including guests, registered users, and anyone accessing the site.
Debattle is a competitive debate platform. Users argue assigned positions on topics in real time. Debates are evaluated by an AI judge (Anthropic Claude). Results affect each user's ELO rating, which is tracked on a public leaderboard.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.
You may use Debattle as a guest (no account required) or by registering with an email and password or via Google sign-in.

Debate arguments — even strong or provocative ones — are welcome. The topic is fair game. Personal attacks on your opponent are not.
Using the debate feature requires microphone access. By granting microphone permission, you consent to your voice being:

ELO ratings are calculated server-side using a standard Elo formula following each rated match. We reserve the right to adjust, correct, or reset ELO ratings in the event of abuse, bugs, or system errors. ELO ratings have no monetary value and cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged.
The public leaderboard displays usernames and ELO ratings. By creating an account, you consent to your username and ELO rating being publicly visible.
Debate judgments, scores, and bot opponent arguments are generated by AI (Anthropic Claude). AI outputs are for entertainment and competitive purposes only. They do not constitute expert opinion, factual truth, or endorsement of any position by Global Debattle, Inc.. We are not responsible for the content of AI-generated verdicts or arguments.
The Debattle name, logo, and original content are owned by Global Debattle, Inc.. You retain ownership of any original speech or arguments you make during debates. By using the Service, you grant Global Debattle, Inc. a limited, non-exclusive license to process and store your debate transcripts for the purposes of scoring, display, and Service improvement.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. AI judgment results are not guaranteed to be accurate or fair.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Global Debattle, Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of ELO ratings, or damages resulting from AI-generated content.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, without prior notice. You may delete your account at any time by contacting hello@debattle.com.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date.
